Inspired by the care shown toward hibakujumoku—trees that survived the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki—I wrote a poem and then embroidered the words using embroidery floss dyed with organic dye made from the fallen leaves of the propagated hibakujumoku tree located in Paris.
